Comming of Age draft

I dislike most of the good things that my mother has tried to get me into over the years. At an early age, my mom signed me up for swimming lessons at the Liliha swimming school. I made it up to the shark level and dropped out because I was forced to do it. I was enrolled in Kumon and Wiz Kids for Math and English for a few months and of course, the essence of dropping out was there, and so I did.

My father put me into dance classes at Nix Pac with my cousins Caitlyn, Christen, Jessie, and Jennifer, but this time around, my parents pulled me out after a few years of dancing. My mom made me do track for four years in a row with Mid Pac and Punahou. I loved track until I started to injure my tendons and got tired of practice, leading me to dropping out once again. My mom also enrolled me in the defensive martial art of Aikido with my cousin Zachary. We both put out about a year with Aikido and both decided to drop out of it because we felt that we weren't learning a whole lot.

As you can see, I dropped out at variety of things, being unable to be committed to anything. After all this dropping out of things, I finally found something that I really enjoy doing and have a huge interest for, that being Amway! My good friend Christian Ibanez introduced me to Amway, and he is now my sponsor. Its funny how we came into the conversation of Amway because we were talking about what we do in our lives and he so happen to mention being in the Amway business.

I was interested in making money so I asked for more details, and so I got it. I have went to Amway meetings, and met millionaires from all over the world at the Hawaii Convention Center. I also got a shake two of the millionaires hands, making me feel so good inside. I have been in Amway for a few months now, and I am starting to enjoy what this business really has to offer. I understand the pay out system much better now that I didn't know before. I am also learning how to talk to strangers and getting to know them better in the process of being in this business.

My mother and Father are great supporters of me joining this organization, giving me much confidence. Finding this business was a really good thing for me and I find this my proof of coming of age, considering that I did everything myself, and I asked to join this business instead of being forced into it. So far I am doing good, and I plan on striving further with Amway.

  2. Well Darian that was a very thoughtful piece of writing, and I like the way you added a little bit of sentence fluency in there, it really makes your sentence strong and it makes you sound professional. I think what would make this a stronger essay would be if you you had talked a little bit more about why your experience with Amway was a time where you felt that you had come of age. maybe you could add in the day where you made your first sale, or had sponsored someone for the first time. But overall that was one of the best essays that iv'e read from you.
